WE NEED YOUR HELP
EYE SEE YOU Project is a project set up in 2018 to raise funds for eye care for learners in need. We provide comprehensive eye examinations and spectacles to learners with vision problems. Our aim is to help as many kids as possible to avoid vision-related learning difficulties as well as diagnose and refer kids with visually threatening eye diseases.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to provide appropriate eye care to every learner in need in the Klein Karoo. We are aiming to raise R500,000 before February 2023. From the reported success of the Karoo, we will later start another fund to help more communities in the Western Cape.
LET’S WORK TOGETHER
Your child’s vision is essential to his success in school. When his vision suffers, chances are his schoolwork does, too.
Vision problems are common among school-age kids. According to Prevent Blindness America, one in four school-age children has vision problems that, if left untreated, can affect learning ability, personality and adjustment in school.
WELDON CARES is a community outreach program to help people get the correct glasses or contact lenses for their specific needs.
This program was designed to provide eye care services to underserved populations, such as low-income families, homeless individuals, and those living in remote or rural areas with limited access to eye care services. So many people don’t belong to medical aid and is in desperate need of spectacles.
The Weldon Cares Program is funded by Weldon Optical and small contributions by the patients (if they can afford to pay something) to provide free or low-cost eye exams, vision screenings, and eyeglasses to those in need. We also provide education, school screenings and awareness programs about the importance of eye health and disease prevention.
With the Weldon Cares program we can help identify and address vision problems early on, improving the overall health and quality of life for those who may not have access to regular eye care services. They can also help reduce health disparities and improve access to care for marginalized communities.
